SET – SDG 4: Activation
The United Nation (UN) sets 17 Sustainable Development Goals where goal number 4, “Equality Education”, is a global scale issue. SET holds a similar objective to create an assurance that everyone is equally and inclusively provided with qualitied education. As well as, supporting long-life opportunity to study which reflects superior education that is thorough and accessible which is an important area to develop sustainably.
Role of SET towards Education
Education is an important tool in every aspect of development, especially within the capital market where education is the main device in solving problems related to saving and investment. As financial literacy is a basis that could possibly bring success or failure to business management or personal finance that requires information, knowledge, and appropriate management skills.
Nonetheless, ever since the capital markets were faced with the financial crisis in 1997, the crisis emphasizes the necessity to solve long term functional problems. The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has continuously driven financial knowledge sharing and development of funding services and investment which are our principal missions to empower the stakeholders, shareholders, and investors in the capital market, in order to support them in coping with change and achieving their goals in saving management and provide them with the immunity to surmount any crises.
Furthermore, these past 20 years, education is accounted as the main tool to co-develop financial literacy of the society that directly connected to the main business of the organization. As well as being an important wheel in efficiently protecting, preventing, and mitigating damages from crises that occurred in each era.
Education and Learning
Apart from financial knowledge sharing, The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) created a network that brings together the potential of the capital market and their accessory that co-develop potential skills in business management for the citizens.
The capital market of Thailand is counted as the center of business sector that plays a role in creating economic growth which are the source of knowledge and a center of experienced and skilled experts that can broadcast and pass on the know-how that can further generate new opportunities to create new entrepreneur that brings about business innovation.
SET provided media and activities to study how to be an entrepreneur at different levels; beginner, intermediate, and advance, which bring about business investment and expansion by faithfully being a center of complete knowledge.
However, the process mentioned also included the attempt to provide knowledge and learning process within the nation’s learning ecosystem in order to establish a sustainable operation.
Project
The project “The creation of social entrepreneur at higher education level ‘Social Enterprise (SE) @ General Education (GE)’” is another tool in helping the higher education system in the creation of human capital of the country that are throughout in both skills for entrepreneur and skills in creating innovation to tackle social issues and prepare a leader of change that understand the value of sustainability.
This project is the designation of general module, cooperating between education network around Thailand in the affiliation of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESRI), the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), and experts in social organizations. Both public and private educational institution around the country can adjust the learning structure, content, manual, pass-on techniques, and supporting network, as well as connecting with the experts of the capital market by being a part of knowledge broadcasting and create passion on the learning process that highlight “transformative leaning” for the new generation.
Make the first path of education be the major path of future creation.
Goals
The role of the Stock Exchange of Thailand towards education and development of entrepreneurial skills is accounted as an additional role in supporting the educational institution which implants graduates into the business sector, adapting content of the module, and possibly bringing the creation of educational service innovation that fulfil future needs or the needs of labor market under the context of topics in sustainability.

This project’s action on “The creation of social entrepreneur at higher education level ‘Social Enterprise (SE) @ General Education (GE)’” project is another important step of cooperation between education network, capital market, entrepreneurs, social sector network, educational institution (public and private), experts, or any learners, from the beginning of this module and develop into the main concept of job development routing or working in the future.
